HD Electric Company's TAG Voltage Detectors are designed to detect voltage on distribution and transmission systems. When in direct contact with an energized conductor, the TAG emits an audible and visual alarm to clearly warn the user if the conductor is energized. Unlike proximity type detectors,
TAG Voltage Detectors will not give false indications due to nearby energized conductors.

All TAG Voltage Detectors can be used in overhead applications with the standard overhead probes as well as in underground applications with the use of optional underground bushing probes.

TAG-200 - single range distribution voltage detector, typical ranges 4-12kV or 12-35kV

TAG-200MR - dual range distribution voltage detector, typical range 4-12kV and 12-35kV

TAG-2000 - triple range distribution voltage detector, typical range 4kV / 12kV / 35kV

TAG-330 - single range transmission voltage detector, typical ranges 69-230kV or 138-500kV

Clydesdale Ltd, representing Polywater in the UK, received an excellent PowerPatch Testimonial from EDF Energy Contracting, who was servicing a leaky, privately owned 11 kV transformer that had to stay in service for many months. A viable field repair was critically important. EDF reported that, "The instructions and examples on the internet show the kit being used on small holes in the tank, but this leak was coming from a seal on the drain valve. This, however, did not cause any problems, the kit was easily applied following the supplied instructions and everything needed was found in the kit. We were impressed with how easy it was to apply and how quickly the process was over. From the outset it looked quite effective, the seal looked good and the drain valve remained operable. The PowerPatch Kit has now been in use for 10 weeks and so far there has not been a trace of oil from the leak. This has solved both of the issues highlighted before and has given us another option when we discover oil leaks other than the need for intrusive maintenance."

HD Electric - Cable Distance Meter

HD Electric Company's Cable Distance Meter is a handheld device for measurement of cable sag, cable height distance and overhead clearance of conductors. It is a modern alternative to telescoping measuring poles.

The Cable Distance Meter uses ultrasonic signals to determine the height of overhead cables up to 75 feet.

Used by line operators within utility industries such as electric and telecommunications, the Cable Distance Meter measures up to 6 wires at a time.
