Richards VC Series Bronze Vise Connectors: Sizes and Conductor Ranges

The Richards VC series are bronze vise connectors that clamp two cables together. Each connector accepts a range of conductors, and its rated size can be combined with any cable of equal or smaller diameter. This guide lists the VC sizes with their conductor ranges and dimensions, and explains the part number options. All data comes from the Richards VC cut sheet.

What Is a Richards VC Vise Connector?

The VC Series Bronze Vise Connector (jaws overlap) is made from high-strength silicon bronze. It is listed by Richards under distribution equipment and is RUS approved.

  • Material: high-strength silicon bronze

How Do You Pick the Right VC Size?

The VC is sized by the larger of the two cables you are joining. Pick the size whose conductor range matches your larger cable. Richards states that the connector's rated size can be combined with any cable of equal or smaller diameter. For example, a VC12 is rated for 4/0 and can clamp a 4/0 cable to a cable of 4/0 or smaller.
