Founded in 1922 by Paul N. Travis, Travis Pattern and Foundry began as a small business producing patterns for sand casting. The acquisition of Product Design Utility in 1992 gave Travis the ability to provide a full range of substation connectors, which led to the deployment of the Travis Utility Grounding Division (UGD). Travis UGD manufactures portable grounding equipment and components. This guide covers the main families in the Travis UGD catalog. For custom assemblies, contact Travis UGD.
Travis Pattern C-clamps come in aluminum and bronze, with smooth or serrated jaws. The catalog lists a continuous current rating of 400A.

Also in the store: the 2/0 Yellow Ground Kit, the Meter Base Ground Adapter and the Cable Grounding Reel.
Yellow 4/0 cable with threaded shrouded ferrules and an ASTM rating of 5H. Sets are offered with 1-1/4, 1-1/2, 2 and 2-1/2 in C-clamps in 6, 10, 12, 15 and 20 ft lengths (for example, GS4/0YC6-00214 for the 1-1/4 in set, 6 ft). To add a parking stud add suffix -P5. For tin plated ferrules add suffix -T.
Jumper sets safely utilize insulated handles meant to be installed with insulated gloves. Standard jumper sets are equipped with 15kV cable but are also available in 25kV and 35kV. Small range jumper heads can be used from 0 to 477MCM conductor. Cable sizes 1/0, 2/0 and 4/0, in 8, 12, 15, 20 and 25 ft lengths.
Travis says the meter base ground adapter is used for personal protection and is designed to prevent inadvertent back feed voltage from alternate energy sources such as generators, solar, etc. It safely grounds 4 STAB 320A or 200A meter sockets, and it can be used to verify absence of voltage during installation.

The Travis motorized cable reel is the only fault current tested reel on the market and is designed to be mounted on any utility truck and is powered from the truck's battery. With a 50-foot capacity, cable can either be partially or fully removed from the reel during use. If fully removed, simply fold cable in half and insert the center point into the notch inside the reel, press and hold the green button to reel cable back up. This product acts as a storage device and does not ground the truck.
