Warm, Dry, and Arc Rated: Youngstown Winter Gloves for Line Crews

Youngstown FR Waterproof Ground Glove

Cold, wet hands slow crews down and make every task harder. But for utility work, a regular insulated glove isn't enough. In the arc flash zone, gloves need to be flame resistant and arc rated, too.

Youngstown Glove's FR winter line gives crews arc rated hand protection from 41 to 100 cal/cm², from a fleece-lined glove for cool days to an insulated, waterproof mitt for extreme cold. Here's how the lineup compares.

Waterproof Extreme Winter Mitt (12-3490-60)

Youngstown Waterproof Extreme Winter Mitt 12-3490-60

Arc rating: 100 cal/cm² | Cut level: A4
Best for: Extreme cold

The warmest option in the line. A three-finger mitt with a long gauntlet cuff that slides over jacket sleeves.

FR Waterproof Ground Glove (12-3465-60)

Youngstown FR Waterproof Ground Glove 12-3465-60

Arc rating: 72 cal/cm² | Cut level: A4
Best for: Harsh winter conditions with high dexterity

A Kevlar knit wristlet locks out the cold, and double goatskin on the fingertips, palm, and knuckles adds grip and durability.

FR Waterproof Ultimate (12-3290-60)

Youngstown FR Waterproof Ultimate 12-3290-60

Arc rating: 55 cal/cm² | Cut level: A4
Best for: All-day warmth

Inherently flame and oil resistant cowhide with Nomex insulation for lasting warmth through a full shift.

FR Waterproof Leather Utility (11-3285-60)

Youngstown FR Waterproof Leather Utility 11-3285-60

Arc rating: 50 cal/cm² | Cut level: A4
Best for: Cool to cold weather, not extreme cold

A dexterous, waterproof goatskin glove for cool and cold days when a heavy insulated glove is too much.

FR Fleece Ground Glove (12-3575-60)

Youngstown FR Fleece Ground Glove 12-3575-60

Arc rating: 41 cal/cm² | Cut level: A2
Best for: Cool to moderate cold

The lightest of the group. An FR microfleece liner and water resistant goatskin make it a good fall and spring glove.

Layer Up: FR Fleece Liner with Polartec (12-3565-60)

Youngstown FR Fleece Liner with Polartec 12-3565-60

Arc rating: 8.6 cal/cm²

A thin, stretchy liner made from Polartec Power Dry FR fabric. It's designed to be worn under arc rated gloves or rubber insulating gloves, adding warmth in winter and wicking sweat inside rubber gloves year-round. Inside-out seams keep it comfortable under a tight-fitting glove.

Need Something for Non-Electrical Work?

For crews doing snow clearing or material handling, Youngstown also makes non-FR insulated options like the Waterproof Winter Plus and Waterproof Winter XT.

Important: Arc rated work gloves do not protect against shock or voltage. They are not a substitute for rubber insulating gloves and leather protectors when working on or near energized lines.
