It depends on the product size. A small torch is fine for low voltage work and smaller high voltage accessories. Thick-wall sleeves and large splices need more heat. Raychem sells three torch setups that cover this range.

A light, portable torch for low voltage products and smaller conductor sizes in high voltage accessories up to 15 kV. It runs off disposable 14.1 oz propane cylinders. The handle and torch head are not sold separately. If you only need to replace the regulator and hose, that part is AD-3015-04 (details below). View the FH-2618A-1 torch kit in our store.
A general-purpose, heavy-duty propane torch with a built-in igniter and a comfortable grip. It gives a clean-burning flame for shrinking high voltage products or thick-wall low voltage products. Buy the FH-2629-TORCH ASSY on its own if you already have a hose and regulator, or the FH-2629-KIT if you want the hose and regulator with it.
This is the largest setup. The Sievert-Matic S handle lights with a piezo igniter, shuts off automatically and has adjustable output. The FH-2649-PS-KIT comes with the FH-3366-97-PS-HANDLE, the large 3348-91 burner, an adjustable regulator, a 30 ft LPG hose and a canvas bag. A smaller burner and an adapter for disposable bottles are also available.

These Raychem products are used with Raychem heat shrink installations.
Use about 20,000 BTU/hr for low voltage and smaller high voltage products up to 15 kV (FH-2618A-1). Use about 30,000 BTU/hr for high voltage and thick-wall products (FH-2629). Large products are easier with the 90,000 BTU/hr FH-2649-PS-KIT.
Yes. The FH-2618A-1 is built for disposable 14.1 oz cylinders. The FH-2649-PS-KIT has a smaller burner and adapter available for disposable bottles.
Yes. All the torch kits use one. The FH-2618A-1, FH-2629-KIT and FH-2649-PS-KIT include it. For the FH-2629-TORCH ASSY alone, add the AD-GR340. To replace the regulator and hose on an FH-2618A-1, order the AD-3015-04.
